Workers turn out enmasse at eagle square to commemorate 2025 May Day

  Workers drawn from the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC, are currently gathered at the Eagle Square, Abuja in their large numbers to commemorate the 2025 May Day festivities. This year’s festivity comes barely a few months after the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, increased the National Minimum Wage to N70,000. The struggle for a review of the minimum wage followed the removal of fuel subsidy by the Tinubu administration on May 29th, 2023.

  Lagos teacher arrested for assaulting pupil during lesson Nigerians have voiced their outrage after a video emerged showing Stella Nwadigo, a teacher at Christ-Mitots International School in Isawo, Ikorodu, Lagos State, physically assaulting a three-year-old pupil, Abayomi Michael, for not writing as instructed.
