Let us make right decision against 2027, Wike warns PDP
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has urged the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party to urgently address its internal disputes ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wike warned that failure to do so could cost the party its chances of winning major political offices.
The minister made the appeal on Monday during a media interaction at his office in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, where he expressed concern over the party’s prolonged internal instability.
According to him, unresolved crises within the PDP could severely undermine its prospects of returning to power in the next electoral cycle.
The PDP has been grappling with internal disagreements since the 2023 general elections, leading to the defection of several members, including sitting governors, to the All Progressives Congress.
During the media chat, the minister also criticised the PDP National Convention held on November 15 in Ibadan, Oyo State, describing it in a mocking tone.
