Nnamdi Kanu is expected to appear in court on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, as his ongoing case continues at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)
will appear before Justice James Omotosho, with the court expected to focus on
matters relating to his health condition.
One of the key highlights of Wednesday’s proceedings
will be the presentation of findings by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA)
committee, which was set up to assess Kanu’s current state of health.
The court’s decision will determine whether Kanu’s
trial will proceed within the next nine days or be suspended to allow him to
receive proper medical care.
On September 26, 2025, Justice Omotosho directed the
NMA to form an investigative committee to evaluate Kanu’s health within eight
days. The committee has since completed its work and submitted its report to
the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN).
The outcome of Wednesday’s hearing is expected to
play a major role in deciding the next phase of the IPOB leader’s trial.
