Ndidi could miss the Super Eagles Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers in November after a scan revealed a more serious problem than initially expected, Emelogist Sports Extra reports.
The Nigerian midfielder has been ruled out of the Eagles Group C games against Central African Republic over two legs in Lagos and Douala, Cameroon due to a hamstring injury he suffered during Leicester’s recent 2-2 draw with Burnley.
He is unlikely to see action again until after the November international break missing at least seven games for the Foxes.
The Eagles face Liberia in Monrovia on November 11 before hosting Cape Verde three days later at the Teslim Balogun stadium.
According to Leicester City coach Brendan Rodgers, the 24-year-old could be out for four to five weeks before he is back.
“Wilf did it in the Burnley game, which was unfortunate,” Rodgers said.
“He missed the Legia Warsaw game through suspension and also Crystal Palace.
